Project description
Client initial brief
In response to changing expectations among indoor fitness enthusiasts, Basic-Fit wanted to redesign the layout of its clubs to optimize the use of available space, create new, more effective training areas, and offer its members a more modern and comfortable experience.
Challenges or constraints encountered
Keeping the club operational during the construction work was the project’s main challenge. The teams had to work in a busy environment while allowing members to continue using certain areas of the club. They:
- Ensure the safety of members and staff throughout the duration of the construction work.
- Minimize disturbances (noise, dust, and contractor traffic) to ensure a positive user experience.
- Organize the work in phases to keep the club partially open.
- Meet deadlines despite the site’s operational constraints.
- Redesign existing spaces without disrupting the business operations of the establishment.
Solution proposed and implemented
To meet Basic-Fit’s objectives and address the site’s operational constraints, the teams carried out a complete renovation of the spaces, designing them to suit the needs of an active gym:
- Renovation of the club’s 1,900 m² facility to optimize each training area (Bordeaux location)
- Transforming underutilized spaces into new, more functional sports areas.
- Redesigning the routes and spaces to improve members’ comfort.
- Modernization of the interior design to create a more attractive and contemporary environment.
- Planning the work in phases to ensure the club remains partially open.
