Project description
Client initial brief
To create, at the heart of the Halles des Victoires, a warm, inviting and immersive space inspired by the atmospheres of the French South-West:
• the spirit of Basque market halls
• the warmth of the Landes
• a lively, welcoming place
The objective: to recreate an authentic local market atmosphere, where flavours, materials, textures and conviviality come together.
A project imagined with interior designer Rosalie Dumoulin, who envisioned a space that feels welcoming from the very first step — a place symbolising sharing and generosity.
Challenges or constraints encountered
A project as warm in its atmosphere as it was complex in its execution.
1. Demanding coordination
• Project management between the client, the project manager and the assistant project manager
• The need for extremely clear communication and continuous on-site presence
• Intense co-activity on a constantly evolving site with numerous stakeholders
3. Very tight deadlines for highly technical, custom-made fittings
• Complex furniture, demanding finishes and heavy metal elements
• The need to be proactive, responsive, and exemplary in both methodology and on-site conduct
4. A highly distinctive atmosphere requiring meticulous, millimetre-perfect execution
Recreating the Basque spirit went far beyond décor alone:
• a balanced interplay of wood and metal, with a coherent colour palette
• the integration of technical elements within a carefully crafted, artisanal atmosphere

Testimony
“This project reminded us that the best achievements are always the result of teamwork. With constant co-activity, daily adjustments and technical demands, every day required flexibility and coordination. It’s this collective energy that made it possible to deliver an outcome worthy of the original concept.”
