Project description
Client initial brief
- To design a bright, joyful and functional store, true to the Smyths Toys brand identity.
-
To structure the space into clearly identified zones, easily understandable for a family audience.”
-
To ensure smooth circulation through the aisles, including during peak periods.
-
To design practical, long-lasting back-office spaces for the teams.
Challenges or constraints encountered
-
A tight schedule: the works were completed in 10 weeks, in time for an opening before the 2025 back-to-school period.
-
The need for multi-trade coordination across the fit-out, energy and furniture scopes.
-
High standards in terms of space readability, circulation safety — especially for children — and the durability of the fit-out.
Solution proposed and implemented
Our teams supported the project across three complementary areas: fit-out, energy and furniture.
-
Drywall and painting works to shape the volumes and define clear, identifiable visual areas.
-
Electrical and plumbing installations integrated from the design stage to comply with operational requirements and regulations.
-
Back-of-house furniture designed to support daily operations, with a focus on functionality, ergonomics and durability.
-
Outdoor fit-out including a children’s area and a trolley park to improve the customer welcome and comfort from the site entrance.
The project was delivered in close partnership with the project manager IR317, whose support and high-quality collaboration enabled smooth coordination throughout the project.
